Stephanie Bendeck is an Associate in our Boston office. She has tried over fifty cases, both jury and non-jury, and argued complicated motions involving complex legal issues to the court. She is experienced in preparing, defending, and cross-examining both lay and expert witnesses.
After being admitted to the Florida Bar in 2009, she joined the State Attorney’s Office of the Twentieth Judicial Circuit, serving in both Lee and Hendry counties. During her career as a prosecutor, she handled a wide variety of cases, from simple misdemeanors to violent felonies, including firearms offenses. She served as co-counsel on homicide and Special Victims Unit cases, including those that involved the physical and sexual abuse of adults and children. She also served in an “on-call” capacity for law enforcement, responding to legal questions that emerged during active investigations, as well as reviewing search warrants.
Ms. Bendeck's experience includes defending first party actions involving the interpretation and application of insurance policies, including those with fraud and bad faith claims. Ms. Bendeck has defended community associations throughout Southwest Florida in premises liability matters and has also defended third-party matters involving claimed mental injury, physical injury, product defect, liquor liability, wrongful death, aggravation of pre-existing conditions, and construction defect. She has also worked diligently on behalf of contractors and community associations in construction defect, lien, breach of contract, encroachment, negligence, and other commercial litigation matters. Ms. Bendeck has worked closely with engineers, general contractors, and other consultants to achieve positive results for her clients.
Ms. Bendeck is licensed in Florida state court, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Ms. Bendeck serves on the Florida Bar Standing Committee on Diversity and Inclusion. She is a current member of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, serving on the Judicial Nominating Commission Oversight Committee. She is active with the Boston Women’s Bar Association domestic violence legislation task force. She is a past President-Elect for the Lee County Association for Women Lawyers and past president of the Hendry-Glades Bar Association.
