Bill Keville and Chris George have another trial success to their credit. A Suffolk County jury recently rejected a $3 million claim against their general contractor client. The plaintiff was injured in a workplace accident. His claims included failure to provide a reasonably safe work site, failure to properly sequence the work and negligent failed to inspect another subcontractor’s work. Plaintiff claimed that he suffered a bacterial infection requiring open-heart surgery. Plaintiff’s expert testified that he would need two additional open-heart procedures. Plaintiff sought to introduce over $550,000 in special damages. Bill and Chris persuaded the jury to return a defense verdict on the basis that no proximate cause existed between the alleged negligence and the claimed injuries.
